Education

I have over 20 years of experience in public education. My experience has ranged from preschool director, elementary classroom teacher, and special education instructor.

I received my undergraduate degree from University of Colorado Boulder in Communication Disorders Speech Science.

I received my masters degree from Regis University in Psychology. I also obtained my second masters degree in Special Education from University Colorado Denver.

I am trained in Structured Literacy and The Wilson Reading Program. Both programs are based on the science of how children learn to read and write. I provide systemic and explicit instruction that develops listening, speaking, reading, comprehension, and writing skills.

I am also certified in LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling). LETRS provides strategies and tools to differentiate instruction to met the needs of each individual student. With LETRS my instruction is more dynamic as varied activities are used to enhance and reinforce the concepts being taught.

I am always seeking Professional Development to stay current with the most effective research based instruction. My ongoing training includes courses to support Social Emotional Learning, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Teaching, the latest in reading, writing, and math instruction. My skills and training enable me to provide instruction with genuine confidence.

Testimonials

"To the parents looking for academic support for their child,

I have worked with Celeste Kellenberger in a professional setting since 2013.  The minute I first engaged in a conversation with Celeste I was infatuated by her knowledge of instruction and personalized education for all students.  I was a first-year teacher and immediately knew that I needed to learn as much from her as possible.  Celeste took me under her wing as a protégé and I attribute my success in education to her mentoring.

While working with Celeste I have personally experienced her expertise in working with struggling students in small group instruction and creating personalized lessons to fit each students’ needs.  Celeste is goal oriented and has high expectations for her students to ensure their success.  I witnessed her turn non-readers into students ready and eager to read.  Every student left her group stating, “I am a reader!”  She was successful in closing the learning gap for many of her students. I am overwhelmed with joy when I see my students’ excitement and confidence because they have experienced success in school. This is the direct result of working with Celeste Kellenberger

If you are a parent or guardian of a student who is feeling overwhelmed in school, unsuccessful, embarrassed, or needing additional help to catch up, Celeste is the tutor to help you.  I am confident that she will help your child reach his or her educational goal. If I am ever in need of additional support for my own children, Celeste is the person I would call in to tutor them. Please feel free to reach out to me for any questions or additional information regarding Celeste Kellenberger as a professional educator."

"My name is Christine Cde Baca and I am a School Psychologist currently working for Westminster Public Schools. I have known Celeste Kellenberger both professionally and personally for over ten years.

I have worked with many Special Education teachers during my 20+ years as a School Psychologist. Celeste is by far the best Special Educator with whom I have had the pleasure to work with. She takes special care to determine and understand the unique needs of each child individually. Celeste is very skilled at first building rapport and trust with each child, making the learning process easier to achieve. She is continually learning new and innovative research-based methods that support the teaching of reading skills to even the most disadvantaged learners. I recall seeing the joy on the faces of many students after they learned to read their first level book under the tutelage of Celeste. Her kind and compassionate approach makes students eager to learn. Celeste truly takes on the challenges of each student as if it was her own child – that’s how dedicated she is to teaching children to read.

On a personal level, Celeste is one of the most caring humans that I have ever known. She is a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. I am proud to call her my friend. You will not be disappointed if you hire her as a tutor, as she will work her hardest to help your child achieve. I wholeheartedly recommend Celeste Kellenberger."

"To parents who has a child who is struggling,

My name is Dan P. and over the course of 1 ½ years my son was struggling with moving on with his life. He graduated from high school, yet he had no idea of how to navigate the next phase of his life. This led to him developing depression and anxiety.

My son never thought he could succeed in college. He always believed that college was for other people but not for him. Celeste worked with my son on a weekly basis helping him develop the academic skills and strategies he needed to pursue his college degree. Through her work, he began to believe he could successfully learn and earn a college degree. She helped him realize the potential he had. He was willing and able to take the risks he had been avoiding.

Now several years later, he is doing very well. He completed his degree from the University of Colorado, Denver campus. He has a wonderful girlfriend and is living life without debilitating depression and anxiety. We are grateful for the support Celeste provided for our son. He is happy, well-adjusted, and has the confidence to face life’s challenges."

"I wanted to write this letter to thank you for all the help you have given my son over the past few months. I can tell that having you as a teacher has made a powerful impact on him. Your patience with him has been incredible.

When he gets older, I have no doubt that he will credit you as the teacher who made the difference in his life. You were able to help him understand things others couldn’t. You made him want to learn every day he went to school.

There are no words to express the thanks that we as a family feel for all you have done for my son."
